  : This was our 2nd overnight stay, travelling from UK through France and Spain to Portugal. Olmedo is a beautiful little historic village/small town full of historic buildings and this hotel is in the heart of it. Its first plus was very secure parking on sight through massive solid wooden gates that would not be out of place on a fortress. Parking is in a huge barn so shaded - a big plus in the heat of the Spanish summer for our camper van. The host, Marciello, does not speak English but this did not get in the way of his friendliness. We messaged him with our arrival time and he accommodated everything we asked for including an early light breakfast. The hotel itself is full of character, courtyards, an eclectic mix of old world decor, fountains, quadrangles, and gardens with a lovely pool in the main garden. Our room was huge with large private bathroom and was spotlessly clean. The hotel does not have a restaurant and does not need one as the village centre has plenty of great restaurants and bars 2 minutes walk away - we had a SUPERB evening meal with very generous drinks measures! There are no Coffee/tea making facilities in the room which might be an improvement. We had our breakfast on one of the terraces with a large serving of coffee and milk. Amigo the hotel cat snuggled in a chair next to us. If you like Novotel-type hospitality this hotel is probably not for you. But if you love individuality, beauty and a taste of Spain conquistadore style, you will surely love it. We highly recommend it.

  : extremely run down. desperately in need of help. garden and atrium overgrown. bed barely warm enough in autumn with no other blankets available. heater unit in the room doesnt work. walls are so thin that the neighbors every move is heard. the owner/staff was in a great hurry and wasnt seen again after check in. I left this morning without seeing anyone else. breakfast is at ten in a travelers hotel. I left at 7:30 without breakfast. check in was lousy. had to call to be let in. there was no conversation as the owner speaks Spanish and I speak English.

  : the absolute vile condition we found the kitchen in rotten food grease everywhere would not advise to eat there ever although not the owners fault there was an impossible language barrier and resorted to using a translator on my phone to even have a short sentence with him pool unusable full of leaves and dead bugs more of a hostel than a hotel

  : It was in the centre.
  : The photos were misleading and had clearly been taken many years ago. The rooms were shabby and the sheets were nylon. There was nowhere to sit outside the room, nor in it. The outdoor areas were taken by one small birthday party near the pool and there was nothing else left to sit on other than a couple of old plastic chairs at a dirty old plastic table, next to an old and filthy barbecue. There was no bar or restaurant. There only seemed to be one employee who seemed to be being kept there against his will. The free breakfast was nowhere to be seen until the owner told me that it would be at 9.30. This was at 8.30. He said he'd set up a table in the reception area, outside the dark and dirty kitchen, and in a thoroughfare. We left shortly afterwards. Don't be fooled by the photos.

  : Property is nice, full of plants. Its like a garden inside a city/town. room is big. We book a room for 2 adults and 2 kids. The owner Marcial is very kind and the staff also.
  : The pool is not functioning during our stay, it could have been a nicer vacation especially during hot weather.
