  : Beautiful building with a large open courtyard in the centre and lovely glassed in cloister and gallery passages upstairs. It is on a hill so far reaching views over the (fairly unremarkable) town. Very helpful reception staff.Our bedrooms were large and comfortable with good bathrooms. No tea/ coffee making facilities though.We enjoyed excellent food and service at dinner - the scallops were outstanding as were the Galician Crepes Suzette which were flambd at the table with theatrical panache.
  : There's a rigid booking system for meals so one needs to do this well before arrival. Otherwise you may be told, as we were, that you can't have dinner until 10pm as the dining room was fully booked or breakfast until 10am. This latter was very tiresome as one needs tea or coffee before that and the bar/cafeteria doesn't open until 11am. We stormed the dining room in the end and demanded pots of tea but was not welcomed by the imperious young woman in charge though we were given some in a seating area. Also pre book your taxi if arriving by train or you may find yourself stranded outside a deserted station.The maintenance of this historic property seems patchy and many dead plants and shrubs adorn the courtyard and beautiful galleries. Tables remain unwiped and there seems a general lack of care and attention to detail.

  : Unique location, vast views and great rooms. The straff was very friendly.
  : The facilities are showing their age. The pool area needs refurbishment, the gym is next to useless (one out of four machines worked, all were rusty) and the jacuzzi also looked old.

  : Much of it is outdated now, I don't like showers in baths. WiFi was poor, parking was restricted and being offered garage parking at additional cost when dearest hotel in town wasn't good
