  : They do dinner parties at the restaurant from the hostal and they did a lot of noise until late hours. It was difficult to sleep and I had and early rise next morning, which wasn't easy

  : This is a great restaurant with rooms. To be fair we stayed on the first day after the summer break and were the only people but the room would probably be the same. Located in a commercial district, the location is convenient for driving but it is far from the centre, shops, restaurants etc. You really are going to eat in the hotel restaurant (which is very good) unless you drive or take a long, deserted walk .The entrance off the main road looks like it belongs to a car dealership but you go up a ramp at the end and then come out on top - lovely view of Montserrat (?) - and come round to the hotel, a pleasant old stone house with a pretty car park. There was only one other one car which looked to have been there for years. The garden to the side is neglected. Inside you go up to the restaurant which is also the reception. The restaurant is big with a large terrace and a nice inside area. The rooms are past a door opposite the restaurant door and also upstairs (lacking a door and sharing the corridor with a private dining room which could be noisy). The breakfast really was "very good" with eggs, ham and chorizo, fruit, cheese, bread, croissant, juice and coffee. Dinner menu offers a very reasonable fixed price and a la carte. The food was excellent. This is a big meat place, aged, grilled etc. Large and very reasonably priced wine list. The restaurant opens at 8pm, breakfast from 7.30am. The staff were delightful. Welcoming, friendly and just the right amount of attention.
  : The room was pretty basic. Good size but it felt like someone had begun the decoration and then given up. One window lacked one shutter, the remaining shutters couldn't be secured shut so moved with the wind. The bathroom door was a crude sliding wooden affair which still had the carpenter's notes written on the raw wood. The bathroom was clean and a decent size but the flush was coming apart and the wall bracket for the shower was broken so you shower by hand. Dim lighting. The TV worked fine but like the curtain rail was fixed at a slant. Comfortable bed. We have stayed happily in "cheap and cheerful" but this was not cheap. Perhaps the first floor rooms are better but given the place was empty... Overall it was a pleasant stay, excellent food, lovely staff but not good value and not for everyone.
