  : The staff, the breakfast, the afternoon tea, the location were all terrific/wonderful. But--Our room had a tiny window looking into a wall. And there were no shelves in the bathroom or in the room. I am not sure why it is listed as a "superior" room. Yet the sheets and towels were lovely and plentiful.

  : Location is excellent, rooms and minibar are very nice. Breakfast is good (although expensive)
  : We were a family traveling together. We booked 3 double rooms. In one of those rooms, my brother and sister in law were going to stay with their 1 and 3 year old babies. The staff at the hotel said they could not stay together (even if the baby slept in a cradle and the toddler in bed with his parents). The child policies on the website of NH state that children under 11 do not pay and up to 2 children can stay per room. But the hotel staff did not want to respect this. How can they expect to separate a family? The room was big enough (it even had a little living room!). Very sad. In the end they "pretended" as if the toddler was staying with me in my double room. To sum up: not friendly for families with babies. Also, we tried to ask for help with transport to the monastery of El Escorial and they wanted to charge us 600 euros for a private driver on a van with sits for the kids. The train is 4 euros, and taxis are 75 euros!!!! When I told them it was cheaper for us to go in 2 taxis, they lied and tried to convince me that taxis would not want to take us there (they did!). I did not appreciate that the staff lied to me about taxis trying to get me to pay 600 (initially they said 900!!!). It was very disappointing.
