  : There was not one positive aspect in my experience with the property or owners.
  : FROM HOSTILE TO NO COMMUNICATION: I have lived abroad for 5 years, and have had my share of good and not-so-good experiences in lodging, but never have I made a complaint. But this was a grim experience, with not a single positive experience. From the rude man who greeted me with a gripe about parking (I did not argue; he said he was the owner of the hotel and apparently guest parking is up the hill, but there is no signage indicating this), to the owner's only initial greeting being the slapping down a paper and asking me to write my name/address (the information is in Booking.com), to lack of notice on electric fence (my dog was on a leash, but I had no idea it was electric as it is not posted along the main track from the dirt car park to the hotel, and the fence appears quite different to the ones used in Italy), to the absolute lack of notice that the property was to be used that evening by the local fire department to launch the valley's anniversary firework show on Aug 1 (this was utterly TRAUMATIZING for a dog, to have a 45 minute-long exploding event, quite literally 75 measured feet from the room), to the lack of wi-fi in room, to the broken credit card machine and inability to pay the property (which appeared to be so for some time as the girl who spoke a little English said something about, "with the coronavirus, we have had problems with the machine..."), and subsequently, to the notice that to pay I must visit a Swiss Bank on my way out of town in order to pay for my hotel stay. Every experience was notable for either a lack of communication, or a considerable lack of a positive one. I left day early and had to pay for two, ironically also being charged a $15 dog fee for the traumatizing experience for him. The hotel and staff are like something out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie. Think twice. You won't find luxury accommodation here, but you also won't find a civil one.

  : The staff here were absolutely lovely. They allowed me an early check in and when I arrived they were in the middle of a busy service and clearly were run off their feet so they sat me down with a free coffee while I waited. It wasn't an issue as they were the ones doing me a favour with the early check in! The location is jaw-droppingly beautiful. The food was good. As many other reviews have said, the kindness of the owner (the lady) was the star quality along with the views. Worth the trek up. I much MUCH preferred it to the commerciality of Zermatt.
  : Bizarrely the toilet lid wouldn't stay up, so you have to hold it up and then use your back to keep it up as you sit! Annoying. The studio is big and it just feels as though a trick has been missed. It felt a bit spartan and austere. A few more furnishings (a sofa, perhaps, instead of the two bucket chairs) could make the place feel like a little oasis.

  : The location and balcony view were stunning. The room was clean and well equipped, the host and staff very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was very good.

  : Our plans changed on short notice, and my wife's son came with us. Our booking was for only two people (we planned on paying for the third person on arrival), but the room didn't accommodate more than two people. Once we were able to explain the situation, Luzia let us pay for a third person and gave us a bigger room with a roll away bed. We really appreciate her being so understanding and accommodating. Overall, this was the second time I stayed at this property, and I would definitely book again the next time I ravel to Graechen!
