Disappointing
Traveller Type: Family with Young Children
  : Location was good for Poperinge.
  : Despite booking 11 months prior we didn't get the twin room in the old house that we booked (my 35 year old son is very tall and doesn't want to share a double bed). We were placed in the Garden House in a very small twin room. A large Belgian family were above us and the footsteps were very noisy as the floor was very thin. In my view one shared WC and shower is inadequate for the number of people in that accommodation (and it is very overpriced for rooms that don't have on-suite). Ordering a cooked breakfast is a big drama and bizarrely only available from 08.00 till 08.30 and it's not worth 9 euros (not 8 euros as quoted in current info). If you are interested in WW1 visit Talbot House museum but stay in a proper hotel in town or Ieper. The house itself (as opposed to the Museum) doesn't have much to offer other that pictures and drawings.

  : Very friendly staff. Quite unique history. Picturesque garden at the back. It was very good for our plans that the breakfast was able to begin with in advance of the beforehand stated time. Spacious house for relaxing.
  : I am used to a larger breakfast and stronger coffee.

  : It is a privilege to stay in such a historic house which is a living museum. Therefore one cannot expect to have the modern luxuries of a custom built hotel.
  : The cat which managed to creep into our bedroom in the middle of the night which jumped on my bed and gave me a fright.

  : Warm house good breakfast.lynn the lady warden was wonderful and helped us out as I'm disabled.
  : Warden was awful had to change rooms. By the time he finished arguing the museum closed so we couldn't go in. he served cold coffee and wouldn't make fresh.for us.would not stay again if he is there.

  : Location is good
  : No facilities, steep unsafe stairs, bathroom poor, breakfast very basic, room very small, no headboard on the bed and the cost of this accommodation is well overpriced. It should not be listed as a hotel, it is more of a guest house or B&B.!

  : The history around the place is amazing. It is more than a hostel... When you are there is like feeling that place is alive from decades!
