: Had confirmation of an early check-in, but still had to wait to the normal time as no rooms were available. Were able to use the pool etc while we waited

: 1. Reception staff were friendly.2. Good breakfast.
: 1. A reservation was made against my credit card without my approval. This was not discussed or agreed beforehand, or at the time of checking in or out. This happened AFTER having paid the hotel bill in full, according to the time clock on my vredit card account. An amount of 57 euros was reserved by a member of the Reception staff and has still not been released or repaid after 4 days. This practice is not acceptable and should be discontinued.2. The room was extremely dusty. The carpet (including under the bed) had not been properly vacuumed. Anyone who suffers from dust mite allergy or who os an asthmatic,, are forewarned. The dust issue is a bone of contention for many a hotel guest, it would seem, after reading various guest reviews.3. A charge is still beong made for tap water! The Van der Valk chain in Holland serves tap water free to the table. It's high time Valk policy on tap water was synchronised, irrespective of country or location. This practice should be abolished.

: I've been here many times before, I've always loved it and the staff and the food, and it's great for being closer to work when I come.I cannot really fault anything except this time we had a big no no.
: At around 11pm on my last night a man came into our room using a key card. I was just about to go to sleep after finishing off my work emails. It woke my wife and she was very scared. The man apologised and left. But the time I was dressed he was gone. I called reception immediately and reported the incident. It took me a very long time to get to sleep and I didn't sleep well after that. In the morning I enquired about it and reception told me that the cameras are not working and they would look later on. At work I was not functioning at 100% I was promised that I would get the money back I spent on upgrading the room to executive suite which was around €70, but on reflection this isn't really good enough. A man walked into our room in the dead of night, anything could have happened and I'm thankful i was awake. In the future myself and colleagues will have to seriously reconsider where we're staying because we have expensive luggage with us. We still have no feedback from the hotel, who the man was and if he was caught or reprimanded.
